700-3B The Tippytootall House
14" Appliqué Design
Easy/Intermediate Skill Level
Some references suggest that it was built and named by two brother leprechauns
who were known to celebrate St. Patricks Day with much enthusiasm at the
Bindleshank Pub. The story goes that when they attempted to return
to their Wee Home in a rather tipsy manner, they couldn’t fit through the
door until the effects of the party, and the name resulted from their efforts.
Other researchers believe that the name resulted from some of the building
materials used by the original settlers. They point out that the
sun room is derived from a Big Folks tuna can while the front entry is
a condensed tomato soup container. Though the main house walls have
been layered with stone experts agree that they were probably constructed
from Lime Jello boxes and that the contents might have been used as mortar.
Thus the tippy-ness of the house.
