Easy/Intermediate Skill Level Gloria and I had a tremendous amount of fun planning this block for the Cyber Quilters! I knew it had to be the Wee Library simply because of the huge archives the wonderful quilters in this group have built and all the quilting knowledge that they share so freely. My husband contributed the idea of using a pipe for a heating source but Gloria and I couldn't decide on whether to use the smoke or bubbles (they show white but should be sheer fabric for a bubble effect) so I put both in! In the growing "tradition" of the Wee Village, there are lots of opportunities for imagination while making this block. I've left the book labels blank so you can add your choice of topics, dates for the quilt, pictures or other book-ish ideas. The "niche" in the roof book would be perfect for an elf or fairy to perch to read and of course there is the matter of the Poplar Trees! I had to hide a surprise for Gloria too you know! If you turn the leaf clusters and make them with bright prints, they transform into stylized butterflies that can of course be embellished with embroidery or fabric paint!
